New Scams in the New Year

Well, it’s a new year, but unfortunately there’s some new fraud schemes to beware of, specifically those that zero in on social media. One of the newest scams targets people who use Instagram. Fraudsters offer an investment opportunity, asking unwary consumers to send $100-$200, promising them they will turn the investment into $1,000-$2,000. This seems to be a very tempting proposal, however, once the consumer sends the money, the scam artist and the money disappear. Read more
